this has got to be the ugliest shoe known to man. this boot makes me so angry, and the fact that i see them on so many people is mind-boggling to me. the company must be so excited that it somehow is making so many sales off such a ridiculous product. i dont understand how this trend even was able to catch on. how can people think, "YES! UGGS, thats the shoe for this outfit!" it looks like a big sloppy sack of potatoe, big foot mess. it is especially irritating the way people wear them- stuffing dress pants into them (what are you thinking), or wearing them with mini skirts (how does that make sense), etc. there maybe is a place for these, if youre going skiing and youre in the mountins, but the streets of nyc are not it. theres nothing good about these shoes. ok, granted they are warm. but you cannot tell me you cannot find a comfortable, stylish, flat, and warm alternative to this monster on your foot. i saw the tall knee high UGGS recently- REALLY? how much ugly are you willing to put on your foot????

wishing the very best 25 to my soul buddy sister falguni! you deserve all that you dream of.
we grew up together, friends for the past 15 years. i am so proud of the person you are today. beautiful (sexy, stylish, and confident), kind, open and always laughing (except when stressing out during law school exams). you're an inspiration to be the best i can be. your never fading dedication and work ethic rightly puts you on a successful life path with a bright future. i am so grateful to have you as a friend to count on in my life for all these years, and so many more ahead! i love you, and all of our memories... fur! this trend really took off and i am glad. fur used to be so taboo to wear and awkward for many. of course everyone has their personal beliefs on the issue, but there are plenty of great faux options out there today. so, its great that people feel more comfortable wearing it again. its evident bc i see it everywhere and on all types of people- women, guys, older, trendy... it used to be that the only people wearing fur were P-I-M-P-S (purple fur coats? come on i can see it now haha), or slavic people (case in point, i was born in poland). fur is extremely common and elegant attire in slavic countries (minor note that it gets pretty cold there).
that brings me to feature a very special piece, worn by my (other) sister, aneta (my sisters make my job much easier bringing the trends to me!). she is wearing a vintage hand-down hat that belonged to my mother. its a russian style hat, made of fox fur. she brought it back from poland, never thinking the trend would come back. lo and behold, it has, and my sister makes quite the statement in grand central nyc, carrying the look with confidence! she looks nothing short of modern and trendy, bringing an eclectic look to the styling. you dont need to go over the top when wearing fur (fur hat, fur coat, fur bag...), simply paid it with you everyday outfit to give it that pop as aneta did below- and its a hit. foxy! kate middleton has been spotted looking chic as usual in a wintery look. keeping to a simple color scheme and bold colors she pulls off an elegant style for the cold weather. seen below, the key piece of white coat is the focus (and im glad its white, i hate the ridiculous no white after labor day rule, who even made that up), and the black accessories fall nicely into the negative space. i must give credit to my sister sylwia, whose below outfit draws inspiration from kate's look, but takes it to another level. she is wearing a white calvin klein coat, along with the black accessories. the addition of the fabulous hat completes the look however. ill be the first to say, i absolutely love hats, and i think they are not worn nearly enough these days, especially in urban locations as it makes many women feel awkward. it is such a statement piece though and gives anyone such an air of confidence, that we should all embrace it.
i must say my sister steals this look! |
