yesterday i attended the raise cache fashion show event to benefit nyc tech start ups in nyc via hackny. it was a great event held at the state armory with good drinks and food, music by dubset, and some fab fashion. the event gathered over 1500, and the innovation in the room was buzzing. 

i went with my good friend nisha, who is near the launch of her own start up - and i give her all my support! she is behind trenvy, which will be redefining social fashion. make sure you check it out!

more than me was founded by katie meyler, whom i had the pleasure to meet at a benefit event in jersey city. the organization helps get little girls in liberia off the slum streets and into school, providing everything a girl needs to get to school; scholarship, supplies, uniform, shoes, books etc. the program also run a school feeding program as well as an after school sports program teaching character.

a couple of weeks ago i attended the 90th anniversary ball for the jozef pilsudski polish supplementary school in jersey city. the school serves to teach the traditions, language, and history to many immigrant and polish-descent families in the jc community.

i attended the saturday school from second grade, since the year my family and i moved to the us from poland in order to continue learning the language of the country i was born in, along with its history and customs. when i graduated the school, i wanted to give back to the organization what was intertwined in many aspects of my being, and i became a teacher of the first grade for four years. being a student has shaped me into the person i am today, fully aware and proud of my background. likewise, being a teacher was a rich and rewarding experience, having the chance to pass on what i have learned.
