i recently finished the abstracted manhattanscape oil painting. it is the first of a series of works that i have been commissioned to do for a new condo at crystal point in jersey city. these new condos are super sleek and modern, and the building, situated right on the hudson river, has spectacular views of new york city. it was very easy to get inspired for the first work, and with floor to ceiling windows, i knew right away my first work will be of manhattan. i chose an abstract style with lots of texture to complement the contemporary feel of the condo. the colors are muted and light pastel blues reflecting the river views and steel construction of ny architecture blending together. i love the way the work brings some of what is outside the windows inside, and it fits right in inside such beautiful space!
